Tryout Season Has Begun!
It may still be the winter, but tryout season has begun for the upper divisions of GVLL. In order for players to get tuned up for their tryouts, GVLL and P3 have setup weekend training sessions which are attended by the P3 instructors and coaches from all GVLL upper divisions.
In order to play in the upper divisions, players must tryout in order to be drafted.
Majors:
Players wishing to play in the Majors can participate in pre-tryout sessions on Sundays at Pier 40. Remaining sessions:
- 1/22/12 10AM-1PM: Official Pre-Tryouts
- 1/29/12 10AM-1PM: Official Pre-Tryouts
- 2/5/12 8AM-2PM: Majors Tryouts (please watch web site for more details)
The majors draft will be held on 2/16/12.
Juniors/Seniors:
Players wishing to play in the Juniors and Seniors can participate in workout sessions on Sundays at Pier 40. Remaining sessions:
- 1/22/12 2:00PM-4:30PM: Indoor workouts including batting & pitching instruction
- 1/29/12 1:30PM-4:30PM: Official Pre-Tryouts
2/4/12 10AM-1PM: Official Pre-TryoutsCANCELLED- 2/12/12 9AM-12PM: Official Pre-Tryouts
- 2/19/12 9AM-12PM: Official Pre-Tryouts
- 2/26/12 8AM-1PM: Junior Division Tryouts
- 2/26/12 1PM-4PM: Senior Division Tryouts
The Juniors/Seniors draft will be held on a yet to be determined date.

I’d like to sign Lawrence Sprague up for pre-tryouts if that’s necessary. Does he just show up at Pier 40 on Sunday? I seem to be off the email list as I haven’t received any since signing up. Maybe another email was registered?

No sign up is needed for the pre-tryout sessions. Just show up at Pier 40. Also, you can register for the mail list by clicking on the e-mail symbol at the top right of the website
