Former GVLL'ers Face Off in City Championships
Updated Thursday May 25, 2017 by Greenwich Village Little League.
Yesterday, two former GVLL'ers faced off at Manhattanville College stadium as their teams battled each other in the NYSAIS championship game. Jack Miller (near right) who is on his way to play baseball for Middlebury College in the fall, drove in one run for the Horace Mann Lions in their 6-3 loss to the Poly Prep Blue Devils, whose roster includes starting pitcher Ethan Ehrenberg (far right). Ehrenberg led the Blue Devils to the finals with a 3-0 shutout in the semis the day before while Miller pitched the winning semi-final game for Horace Mann on the same day, different field.
Miller and Ehrenberg's friendship goes back to their days playing Majors in GVLL. It was there that they learned the lessons of dedication and teamwork that helped them both go on to successful high school baseball careers and a chance to compete for the city's top prize. Congratulations to Jack and Ethan and to Poly Prep on yesterday's victory!
