GVLL Board

The board of GVLL meets on the second wednesday of each month. Those interested in attending board meetings and joining the board, should contact the board at gvllboard@gmail.com for more information.

Board members for the 2012/2013 season are as follows:

John EconomouGVLL PresidentJohn has lived in the West Village for 20 years and has coached and managed teams in TBall, Jr. Minors, Minors and Majors. He has also coordinated Jr. Minors, Minors, and Summerball and was the Executive Vice President before becoming President in 2012. All in all, John has been an active GVLL volunteer for the past seven years. In his spare time, you will find John coaching and playing soccer.
Carin EhrenbergExecutive Vice President, Majors American CoordinatorCarin has lived in the West Village and Chelsea for 20 years and coached and managed teams in Tball, Jr. Minors, Minors, and Majors. Carin became a coordinator when her younger son was in Jr. Minors and has been on the board as coordinator for seven years (moving up divisions with her son). Carin, who dreamed of being a baseball pitcher when she was a softball player growing up, now spends most of her free time in spring and summer watching her two sons pitch for GVLL, their school and travel teams!
Daniel MillerVice President, External AffairsDaniel Miller has been an active GVLL board member for many years. After serving as VP/Dir of Baseball Operations under the tutelage of George Usher, Coach Dan served as President through the 2011 and 2012 seasons. He is currently one of the leaders of Pier 40 Champions, concentrating on preserving and expanding downtown field space for youth sports. As President of GVLL, Coach Dan guided GVLL back into LLA Tournament Team play. His dream is to coach a GVLL team to the Little League World Series.

Jessica ContrastanoFundraising / SponsorshipJessica was born and raised in Greenwich Village and is raising her own 3 children 1 block from where she grew up. Her 2 sons are active players in the league, entering their second and third seasons. She joined the board last year to put her business skills to good use for the League by co-ordinating sponsorships. She added 10 new local businesses to the roster and looks forward to bringing additional opportunities and ideas to the organization. Play ball!

Mike DeRosaHead Umpire MinorsMike stumbled upon the last game of GVLL’s maiden season in 1984 and he signed up with his step son in ’85. He has coached or managed in every division. Throughout the League’s infancy, the coaches umpired each other’s games and there Mike found his calling and has umpired for GVLL ever since. As a volunteer, he chooses to stay in Minors where he can coach while umpiring and he enjoys encouraging youngsters as they struggle to learn the game. He hopes that his love of baseball is contagious.

Barry FaganVice President, IT, Upper Division Fall Ball CoordinatorBarry has lived in the Village for 23 years and has Coached, Managed and Coordinated in the Majors, Juniors and Seniors in the Spring, Summer and Fall. For fun he maintains the GVLL Website and bikes hundreds of miles a week (weather permitting).
Rod GibbleVice President, Uniforms, Nationals Co-CoordinatorRod has lived in the West Village for 13 years and has two children playing on GVLL teams spring, summer and fall. He has coached or managed in Jr. Minors, Minors, Majors and Juniors Softball. He believes that in Little League kids should have fun, be part of a team, learn to play and love baseball, and grow up to be better members of their communities as a result.

Wayne KimballPlayer AdvocateWayne has lived in Greenwich Village for 21 years. He has been a manager in every division of GVLL from T-Ball through Seniors. He has coordinated the fall ball program and been a chaperone for a team that represented GVLL in Cooperstown. He has been a member of the GVLL board for 7 years and enjoys the title "Baseball Guy."
Susan KushnerVice President, Field PermitsSusan has been part of the GVLL board for the last 3 years. Although her son Max has only been playing for GVLL since Majors, the friendships that they made from being on some very special teams lead Susan to become more involved with the GVLL community. As permit coordinator, the ability to forge strong relationships with the Parks department has been one of her strengths. Susan's involvement in the Fitness world has also made the pursuit of getting as much field time for GVLL's players not only a must but a priority.

Josh LevineMinors CoordinatorJosh has lived in the West Village for 20 years and is a relative newcomer to GVLL, with a son entering Minors and a daughter heading to T-Ball. Josh coached and managed for the previous three years and has served on the GVLL board for the past two years, serving as Jr Minors coordinator in 2012 and Minors coordinator for the upcoming season.
Alan MarashJunior Minors CoordinatorAlan has lived in the West Village for the past 13 years, and never wants to move out of the neighborhood. Over the past three years he has managed T-Ball and Jr. Minors. In 2012 he was the T-Bll Coordinator and has been on the board for two years.

Frank SaracinoVice President, Treasurer , Majors National Co-CoordinatorFrank has lived in the West Village for 20 years and has been a part of the GVLL community since 2008. Over that time, Frank has managed his son's teams from T-Ball through Minors and coached his daughter's teams through two years of Minors. Frank has been a member of the GVLL board since 2010 and has held the office of Treasurer since 2011. He has served as league coordinater at both the Jr. Minors and Minors levels. For 2013, Frank will be co-cordinating the Majors Nationals division and looks forward to managing his son's Majors Nationals team.

Bobby ScoreConcessions / Sales CoordinatorThe Score family has ties in Greenwich since the 1920's. Bobby became involved with GVLL when his son, Henry, signed up for Junior Minors. Bobby then helped coach Minors, Majors National and Majors American. He gladly accepted to participate on the GVLL Board taking care of the JJ Walker concessions and coordinatinating the 2011 Summer Ball season. Bob's Union affliation, Local One of the IATSE, proudly sponsors a GVLL team.

Carolyn TrufelmanTrophies Coordinator, Opening Day Co-CoordinatorCarolyn lives in Hell's Kitchen, on the north end of the GVLL geographic zone. Her old son has been playing GVLL for 6 years, her younger son started T-ball last year and her husband coaches most years. She joined the board in 2012 as the Gamechanger coordinator for Minors B. This year she is coordinating Opening Day and trophies.

Steve WhiteVice President, SoftballSteve has lived in Noho for 22 years and has coached and managed teams in T-Ball, Jr. Minors, Minors, Majors and Juniors. He also helped revive the GVLL Tournament Team three seasons ago. More recently, Steve has been coordinating the GVLL Girls Softball Program for the past two seasons and during that period has also been managing the GVLL Juniors Girls Softball Team, the Cowgirls. Altogether, Steve has been an active GVLL volunteer for the past ten years and is a firm believer that Positive Coaching is the key to the long-term success of GVLL and our children.
